A lawyer’s lawyer, Joe Reynolds has tried hundreds of jury cases, most of them to winning verdicts. He has handled more than 270 cases in the appellate courts. A Marine’s Marine, he fought valiantly for our country at both Iwo Jima and the Chosin Reservoir.
After earning degrees from Baylor, Joe became special assistant to the Attorney General of Texas. Along with Thurgood Marshall, Price Daniels and Joe Greenhill, Reynolds handled, all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States, the groundbreaking case of Sweat v. Painter, which resulted in the first black student attending the University of Texas Law School.
Joe practiced with Bracewell, Reynolds & Patterson, then Reynolds, Allen & Cook, each for 20 years. As the foremost antitrust litigator in America, the State of Texas continued to seek Joe’s representation well after he entered private practice. Most recently he has been “Of Counsel” to Andrews & Kurth and Schwartz, Junell, Campbell & Oathout.
An accidental Aggie, Joe served on the Board of Regents of Texas A&M for 16 years, appointed by three different governors. A man of great religious fervor, Joe has advised dozens of school districts on constitutional issues involving religious expression in the public schools. No other attorney has represented more Texas school districts.
Joe Reynolds is a legal legend and a Texas treasure. |
