The Texas Association of Civil Trial and Appellate Specialists
was established in 1986 to promote the availability, accessibility
and quality of the services of civil trial and appellate
lawyers to the public. TACTAS provides service to the
public interest and advances the standards of the legal
profession in the area of civil trial and appellate practices.
TACTAS members include only attorneys and judges who have
obtained board certification in Civil Appellate Law, Civil Trial Law, or Personal
Injury Trial Law. Through its
years of professional service, TACTAS has promoted high
standards in professionalism, established principles
and networking resources, and has provided integrity and
strength for its members.

Join TACTAS Today
All members of TACTAS must be Board Certified Attorneys
by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in the areas
of appellate, civil trial, or personal injury practices. By joining TACTAS,
you will join others who endeavor to (i) cultivate the science of civil
trial and appellate law jurisprudence, (ii) promote reform
in civil trial law to foster respect for civil trial and appellate
law among the citizens of the State of Texas, (iii) advance
the standing of civil trial lawyers and the legal profession, (iv)
preserve the high standards of integrity, honor and
courtesy and establish a close relationship among the
civil trial and appellate lawyers in the State of Texas, (v)
encourage a sense of pride and unity in the practice
of civil trial and appellate law, and (vi) cooperate with
the local bar associations, State Bar of Texas,
Appellate Section of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization,
Litigation Section of the State Bar of Texas, Civil
Litigation Section of the American Bar Association,
Federal Bar Association and other professional organizations
